Granny and things go well.

Hello All.

Behold the veggie pie.
Unfortunately, not as good as I remember.
Probably because who has time to measure a quarter cup of butter?
Also, it could have gone in a wee bit longer.
But, it was tasty.
And, we will be having it again tonight.

This morning I had to go to UIF to sign for my next payment.
My brother/bodyguard picked me up at 6:15AM.
We were there in next to no time.
And, by some miracle, he was able to find parking just along the road.
Thank heavens, because it was freezing.
And, we were able to sit in the comfort of his car whilst waiting.

The following picture is a bit dark.
Because it WAS still dark.
But you might be able to get an idea of all the people already waiting.
Thank God not the queue I had to join.

Nope.
It is far too dark.
And, I have no idea why that image block is there.
And, I can’t get rid of it.
Just as I thought I was getting the hang of photos.

Anyway, we were in and out in twenty minutes.
And, now I wait for the money to hit my bank account.
My first payment was quite large.
It turns out it was for two months.
Next one will be considerably smaller.
But hey, every little bit helps.

Then I took my brother for breakfast.
Very nice.
And expensive.
Mental note on a piece of paper.
Do not have a cup of coffee before standing in queues.
By the time we got to breakfast I was cross eyed.
A loo has never looked so good.

  1. I’m glad it went smoothly, nothing worse than a trip where nothing is accomplished

  2. What a good thing you have company. Will this have to happen every month?

    • It goes on for another six months. But the money becomes less every month.

      • 🤔

  3. I’m so glad your vegetable pie came out well and was tasty. Even though you doubted yourself, it came out fine, and I expect everyone enjoyed it. I’ve got a casserole dish just the same as yours – same shape and Pyrex glass. It was my Mum’s and often used. It’s great as I can use it in the oven or the microwave. I expect all of that generation had one of those. And do love a meal with leftovers – firstly, there’s no need to cook the following night, and the flavours seem to mature overnight so that it tastes even better on day two.

I’m very glad your brother could take you to the UIF at that time in the morning. It was very, very dark, wasn’t it? I’m pleased that you got your money and I’m glad you didn’t have to wait up there too long. Especially after a cup of coffee, as you said! I’m the same last thing at night – I drink too much in the evening (not alcohol, by the way), and then I’m up in the middle of the night – and I’ll leave the rest to your imagination! Probably TOO much information!! 😂 xx

    • Never too much information Ellie.
I am up in the night EVERY night.
      Par for the course.
Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight.

  4. Well it was very dark. But everything was good. The pie was perfect, you got your money, you had breakfast with your brother and you found a loo in time. Just one question. Do you have to go to collect your money every month or will it now just appear in your bank account as ours does?

    • Hi Judith. You have to sign a form every month to say you are not working. Then they put it in your banking account. I have to go five more times. Eeeek.

    • Didn’t get my money.
You have to sign a form and then wait for them to pay it into your bank a/c.
      Am still waiting!!!

  5. I am glad it all went well!!
