Granny has been slack

Hi All.

Am scared to look to see how many days I have missed blogging.
I don’t even really know why.
I know I spent time fighting about my car papers.
Seeing to multiple issues in the complex.
Talking to my new friend.
Having coffee with another friend.
Just stuff.

I did promise another post of my second attempt to scatter ashes.
Think I will save that for tomorrow.

I also mentioned a new friend.
A lovely lady.
She lost her husband a few months ago.
And, is not doing well.
She is, apparently, suffering from broken heart syndrome.
I didn’t know there was one.
She needs to talk.
So we did.
For three hours yesterday.

Oh yes.
We also had no water for two days.
Again.
Not an excuse for not writing.
But I DID have to listen to M complaining.
A LOT.

And now I have to go and scrub the toilet.
Be still my beating heart.

  1. You are so right about stuff just happening and getting in the way.
Grandkids are writing exams and coming out of school at all different times. Then there is rugby practice for the boys and revue and dance classes for our granddaughter.
I have no idea how I coped when I was younger, but lately I just don’t have the same number of hours in a day that I used to have.

    • I can relate Paul. Thank heavens my grandkids are far away. The complex is more than enough for me.

  2. I did wonder whether you were okay, Granny, but I also know that stuff certainly does get in the way. Or, as the saying goes, ‘Life is something that happens to you while you’re busy making other plans!’ How true that is. I love the picture at the top of your post – it’s so funny, and I could totally relate to it. Just a tip that might help … have you tried sitting on your bed or a chair to put your tights on? But that wouldn’t be such fun nor have the risk factor, so perhaps, rather boring that way 😁!

I’m glad you’ve made a new friend. I’ve heard of broken heart syndrome. I hope she gets through this difficult period in her life. I’m sure she’s grateful that she can talk to you. And what a pain – not having any water again – it seems to be an ongoing issue where you are. It would drive me dotty, but then, I’m already halfway there already!

I’ll look forward to your next post about scattering ashes and I promise I won’t take it so seriously this time 😉. Unless I’m meant to, that is 😁. Xx 💖

    • Hi Ellie. I am now officially dotty. No water again!

  3. No one’s died, so life will go on

    • Now we have no water. Don’t know which is worse.

  4. LOL at your quote!

Yes, life gets in the way doesn’t it, its OK. Always enjoy reading your posts whenever you get a chance to write them. Don’t feel pressured to, for that takes the fun out of blogging.
So sorry about the lady who has broken heart syndrome. How nice of you to be there for her, for yes that syndrome is very real!
Sorry about you having no water, hope that is fixed soon!
    Happy weekend!

    • Same to you Joy. Had a shower. Low pressure and lukewarm but wet!

      • Thanks.
Well glad you at least have water and it wasn’t a Cold shower! Hopefully the temp rises. 🙂

      • It has gone again.
        Cry my beloved country!

      • Oh dear!

      • And now it is back with low pressure.

  5. You always make me laugh. There are far more important things to do than blogging. You do have a life, even if it’s only chatting to friends and cleaning the loo. 🙂 xxx

    • Hi AD. I agree. Today I must tackle the filing and clean my den. But now I am going back to bed for a couple of hours. Perchance to dream!

  6. It always makes me smile when I see your posts, Granny. I missed you! : )

    • Awww. Thank you so much Stacey.

  7. I am working backwards so have already read about the ash scattering. Time seems a funny thing at our age. Of course now scientists are postulating there is no such thing as time so I guess you haven’t skipped or missed everything

    • Now there is a thought to keep me awake tonight!
