Granny is cautiously excited

2010_10280010

Hello All.

Where does the time go?
They say time flies when you are having fun.
That must be it.
NOT!

Back to the last post.
The waterless one.
On day two of our second water switch off I borrowed containers from my mate at work.
And brought home a hundred litres.
Then I went up to my cousin’s house and had a lovely shower and washed my hair.
Came home and, an hour later, they switched the water back on.
Go figure.

Why am I excited?
Wait and I will tell you.
Mex and I have hired a cottage for next weekend.
Outside a place called Port Alfred.
About an hour and a half from here.
The cottages are about fifty metres from a lovely beach (if their website is to be believed)
AND….we are taking Jasmine with us.
She is going to be such a happy doggy.

We plan to have a braai  (bbq) on Friday evening and we will buy pizza on Saturday night.
So, no cooking for me.
We will have leftovers on both mornings for breakfast.
I have bought paper plates.

Anyone with a direct line to the Man above….please arrange for nice weather.

The cottages are quite far apart from each other.
And surrounded by thick bush.
I am a little concerned about snakes etc.
But I have not said a word to Mex.
He will lock himself in the cottage for the whole weekend.
I will take loads of photos so brace yourselves.

We will be going in my car.
Mex does not like having PEOPLE in the back of his car.
Hair shedding dogs are not an option.
I am lucky he lets me in.

If anyone is interested this is the website of the place.

My boss spent the weekend there recently and he said it was great.

  2. Granny, that sounds like lots of fun and I know Jasmine is going to enjoy it soooo much. You just have lots of fun and hope we see lots of pics. 😀 *big hugs* to you and Jasmine. xxx

  3. Well, from the photos on that site, it looks like exactly what you need – beach on your doorstep for you and Jasmine to explore and walk to your heart’s content, secluded cottages and best of all – no cooking!
Praying for good weather to make it perfect (but I have a sneaky feeling you will still enjoy it whatever the weather). Just the complete change of scenery for you and Mex will do you the world of good.
    Chill out and enjoy!

  4. Wow two posts to read this morning, thanks Granny. Hope you have wonderful time, just relax and enjoy yourself. Love you

  5. Can’t wait to see all the pics. Sounds like fun well except if there are snakes! I found a baby one in my house last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby or not, good or not this is the last straw for me. I am 53 and this has never happened. I don’t live in the bush or the country so what the hell is going on?! I can’t relax now. I am so grateful to my cat for finding it. No more going barefoot for me and I am high alert.

  6. It looks like a beautiful place! I have to say – I’m not used to seeing an ad that says “Malaria-free park”!!! That’s one thing we don’t have to worry about here….yet…. 😉 Have a wonderful time Granny, I’m looking forward to seeing those pictures!
