Granny is counting down the hours.

Hello All.

What has happened to me?
I have become a part-time blogger.
This is so not me.
And this is going to be a short post too.
It is nine o’clock and I haven’t packed yet.
I haven’t done my nails.
In fact, I haven’t accomplished much of anything.

Tomorrow we head off to our Spa weekend.
And I can’t wait.
It has been a dreadful week at work.
I really am counting the days to leaving now.
And I have always loved my job.
Now I am startingย  to hate it.

It is not the job.
I have no problem with that.
But certain things have happened.
Things I find unethical.
I have a feeling I might just go out with a bang.
Guess that is better than a whimper.

Yesterday was a holiday.
I spent most of the day packing bits of glass and crystal.
And wondering why I was doing it.
Then, just as I was going to take Jasmine to the beach, a friend arrived.
Armed with a bottle of good wine.
Which was empty when she left.
It was a good visit.

Also, my son came around to install a stove for the new owner.
And put ours in the garage.
I mentioned that we were now using the beautiful double bed.
Yesterday, I gave it to my son.
And we hauled the king size bed back in.
And we both had a great night’s sleep.
Even if we did have to sms each other to say goodnight!
There is nothing to beat plenty of space.

Mex had a cancerous thingy cut out of his chest on Monday.
Fortunately, not a spreading type of cancer.
But it is a beaut of a cut.
It was done under local so Mex took himself along.
Though I DID offer.
He is either very brave or very stubborn.
Wait…we are talking about the man who is terrified of geckos.
And little frogs.
And spiders.
And we won’t even mention snakes.
So…he must be stubborn.
I would have insisted on being taken.
I would have asked for a wheelchair.
I would have milked it for all it was worth!

So now I am off to throw a few things in a bag.
Pack my camera.
So I can share the experience with all of you.
Watch this space.

  1. We are watching the space to see what you do next. Sorry the job is becoming a bore, but as you say not long now before you are off to pastures new. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Sounds like you’re leaving your job at just the right time.

Mex is definitely brave – if anyone pointed any needles at me, they’d have had to tie me down! Ack!!!!

Have a wonderful spa weekend – can’t wait to hear the details! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Aha, enjoy spa!
Is it your intention to speak rather frankly upon leaving the work scene? A nice blowup, and then leave them to deal with the fallout.
Next time someone comes bearing wine, Jasmine may well bite them.

  4. A few of us are other-than-daily bloggers, Granny, but someone has to give the world a rest.

Boy , health issues abound. Hope Mex heals quickly.

I had my ultrasound today. I never knew that cysts are hollow and filled with fluid. And benign. That’s the difference between a cyst and a lump. I envision my lumps as hollow. The evidence just has to agree!

    Don’t pack any empties! ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Oh, you are hilarious Granny! I enjoyed your post. Can’t wait for the beautiful photo’s you’re going to share. Enjoy!
    *hugs* to you and Jasmine.
