Granny get the first ride …take two.

Hello All.

Again.
I have no idea what happened.
I did a long post with three photos and a cartoon.
And words.
Published it and it was gone!
If it happens again I am out of here.

So, I got a call from the financial director this morning.
Asked me to take our delivery van in to the dealers.
We have traded it in on a brand new one.
About time too.

I said Ohkaaaaaaaay.
While thinking “oh hell”.
I have not driven a heavy vehicle for thirty odd years.
Anyway, I climbed in and adjusted the seat.
Managed to take off without making a fool of myself.
It has a clutch from hell.

I turned onto the highway and looked in the rearview mirror.
Only there wasn’t one.
Having a closed back it doesn’t need one.
I had forgotten to adjust the side mirrors.
I drove all the way with no idea if anyone was behind me.

When I got there I had to sign a whole lot of forms.
Hope I haven’t committed myself to paying for the new van.
Then there was the drive back.
The new van is a VW Caddy.
Handles like a dream.
Plenty of space.
And there is nothing like the smell of a new car.
I got it back without a scratch.
Or a ding.
Whew.

Jasmine was stranger than usual this morning.
She buried about five pieces of kelp.
Don’t know why she does it.
She never goes back to check on her booty.

The bird life was prolific today.
Had the feeling they were all watching me.
Any of you remember the Alfred Hitchcock movie?
Guess most of you are too young.

Before I leave you I want to share an e-mail I received today.
Some of you must not like it.
It appealed to my warped sense of humour.

The cartoon WAs there.
Now it has gone.
