Irritated Granny

Another picture from yesterday.

Oh….Good Morning.

This morning the headline news was ex President Mandela being in hospital.
The announcer opened the news with the words “ex president Mandela STILL in hospital”
Freaking hell…the man only went in yesterday afternoon.
What did they expect?

Which reminded me of a true story.
The mother of a friend of mine is deep in her nineties.
About three years ago she wasn’t well.
Six of her seven surviving children were gathered around her bed.
Expecting the worst.
One of her daughters was crying and said “goodbye Mom”.
At which her mother opened her eyes and said “why, where are you going?”

Back to Nelson Mandela.
Give the poor guy some space.
The press are like vultures outside the hospital.
He is probably watching all the excitement on TV and saying bloody idiots.
As opposed to Motormouth who says bloody agents.

On a more serious note.
I CAN be serious.
Sometimes.
I wish Madiba well.
I greatly admire the man.

Oh yes the WP tip for the day.

If stranded on a desert island, and could only bring one music album with you, which would it be? What is it about this music that never gets old for you?
http://en.wordpress.com/tag/postaday2011/

IΒ  can’t do this one.
This is a desert island.
How am I going to play the album?

Oh all right…let me try.
It would have to be something cheerful.
Certain Jazz depresses me.
I like opera.
Don’t tell anyone but I have even been known to like Country Western.
I guess it would have to be Queen.
I like his voice.
And he makes me laugh.

Have a lovely day all.

p.s.
Received this in my spam mail:

cool porn aggregating site..

What have I ever said that would make a porn site interested in sending me mail?
What the hell does an aggregating site mean?
Where do these people come from?

  1. So you like two kinds of music…….country AND Western! πŸ™‚

    • What can I say Supa!!!!!

  2. The press really irritate me…they are like vulchers. Recently a young girl was murdered in Bristol. The police took a man in for questioning, the press uneartherd all his past, published every finite detail about the man and convicted him. Poor guy was innocent but his whole life has been publicly scrutinized. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

As for porn…well granny what can one say πŸ™‚

    • Hi PIP…news is quiet at the present so Mandela is manna from heaven for the press.

  3. I hate the way ‘the press’ get bad mouthed because of the few (I hope the minority) of those with no consideration for Madiba’s family.

    • Hi Adee…Maybe I am generalising but most of the internet news is coming over the same way!

  4. They come from the bowels of hell! πŸ™‚

    • Morning Rose…who? Oh the press! I am slow this morning…haven’t finished my coffee.

  5. I like Queen, too! πŸ™‚

    LOL @ spam emails

I’ve never had emails regarding porn, but for some reason, I get emails regarding the little blue pill.. not that I would need it!

    • I love Queen but it must be played at top volume so I hope the rest of the complex like him too!

  6. Love your story about your friends mother. The press are indeed vultures … worse than ever. Modern media has made them hyper about being scooped.

I’m not sure I could pick one album … I need one for uplifting, one for relaxing, one to feel spiritual, one to cry by, one … you get the point.

At one point, my business website was getting several hundred emails a day … mostly porn ads (aggregated and unaggregated … each has its fans), male products (need I say more), and, of all things, cheap watches. Go figure.

    • I need a cheap watch Bud..hehe…nope…all I get is viagra and,now, porn.

  7. Of course your blog is porn … it’s f**&ing entertaining!

    • Cindy!!!! Go and wash your mouth out with soap!

  8. Hi Granny was going to send you an email…but I can’t find your address.

Here are the instructions for the Slideshow – Hope they work πŸ™‚
Upload your photos as normal. Then add the code [slideshow] before the 1st photo and
[/slideshow] after the last. (No next inbetween) Please let me know how you get on

    • Thank you Piglet…I will give it a try over the weekend.

  9. I love country too…I tried to keep it under wraps, but I always get found out.

As for the porn…hehehehe….that is freaking funny.

I have received some pretty funny spam emails too, my thought is if you are going to spam me, at least speak my language, and BE ABLE TO SPELL!!!!

Have a groovy day Granny πŸ˜‰

and by the way….I always look so forward to your daily morning blog πŸ™‚

    • Good Morning Princess…yes…especially the spelling bit…I am NOT doing business with someone who can’t spell..not even funny business.

  10. Okay, here’s my vote: for me, it’s the Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers album. I can skip caffeine if I just give that a listen.

Yes the media are vultures these days, this whole “scoop” thing is accelerated to a frightening degree. They cause deaths, accuse/expose the innocent, cause irreparable damage and mess up elections….but they never learn. They say “never again” and then do it the next day. No end to it in sight. What a mess.

On a happier note, stop by my blog today if you get the chance – it’ll cure any ill effects from the heat you may be feeling!

    • Good Morning RD….I shall pop over just now…didn’t have time to visit all my friends last night.

  11. haha! great post, lovely read!

    • Good Morning Kolembo…thank you for the visit.

  12. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who checks the Spam folder for entertainment purposes. I think my favorites are the ones addressing me by my email addy regarding sexual aids in disjointed English. Why wouldn’t I rush to send a hundred bucks to some company who doesn’t even know my name for a product that’s probably made out of duck mucus and drain cleaner and will solve sexual dysfunction with only one tiny side effect of death. YES! I’m off to check that Spam folder now…

    • Good morning Morgue….we really need to get lives…checking the spam folder for entertainment…sigh

  13. Glad to have another photo of the fog shawl. Merci.

Music deserves our diversification. Speaking of Opera, I attended Don Carlos, live from the Met, on big screen at our local theater last Saturday. It was fabulous. Even if it started at 9:30 in the morning!

At the beginning, they show scenes of people gathering all over the world to watch the opera. I think of all my South African blogger friends when they pan over a Johannesburg scene.

    • Hi Souldipper…that must have been fantastic…I haven’t been to live opera since the ark!
