Granny’s Monday Mutters

Good Afternoon All.

My word I have been a busy bee.
No time to talk to you lot.

Please note that when I head my post “mutter”-“rambles” or “thoughts it means I have no idea what I am about to talk about.
Much like going to the fridge, peering into it, and wondering why the hell I am there.
Does that sound familiar to the more mature readers?
If it is happening to the younger ones among us…you are in big pooh.

My DIL is talking about taking me away for my birthday.
In April.
To a Spa.
How wonderful I hear all my new friends saying.
She took me to one last year.
Go here to see what I thought of it.(LD readers…you have all seen it)

Actually it was great fun.
When they weren’t taking off the top three layers of my skin.
Or attempting to drown me in ice-cold water.
Yes…it was great fun.

Seriously, I am looking forward to it.
We drink too much.
And giggle a lot.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
And this Spa might actually pamper us.
Instead of the torture treatment we endured last year.

Today’s tip was “what is your favourite sound.?”

Mine has to be a baby’s laughter.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

  1. cannot wait for your post after the visit to the spa.
Had such a good laugh last year and know that I will be bent over with giggles this year 😉

    • Hehehe Napier…I had such fun writing that post!

  2. I’m not a spa person, but it’s a lovely thing for your DIL to do. You deserve some pampering! My favorite sound is the lack of one – the absolute, incomparable silence that comes only during a snowfall. It’s practically a spiritual experience. Have a good Monday!

    • I have to agree with you RD….love it when the TV is off and there is perfect peace.

  3. Granny, I agree with you. Hearing babies giggle and laugh until they get the hiccups is a great sound. 🙂

    • Hello Rose…it was the first thing that came to mind…and I can’t better it!

  4. Well, you know which treatments to avoid this time. And have them clean out the drainpipes on your balcony before you get there …

    • Oh Lord cindy…had forgotten about the snake that wasn’t.
      How was your first day???

  5. I like your favorite sound too. Baby laughter is super cute and can cheer me up every-time.

Hope you have a lovely time at the spa. 🙂

    • Good Morning EC…it is only in April so a long way to go, but thank you.

  6. Hmm. Being told, “I love you,” unprompted. Especially followed by “Papa.”

    • Excellent one Bud…gives one such a warm and fuzzy feeling!

  7. Enjoy being spoiled, granny. I love your photo today. It’s soulful. I could sit in it for ages.

    • Good Morning Souldipper…you can see how much later the sun is coming up…soon I will have to revert to after work walks…I will miss the morning beach and all the soft pinks.

  8. […] gentle ways these days, like being repelled by other’s enthusiasm.  So, when I noticed on Granny1947′s Blog that The Daily Post had suggested the topic, What is your favorite sound? I immediately began to […]

    • Thank you for the mention Bud!
