Granny’s Bloody Thursday

Good Morning All.

No…I am NOT swearing.
Yet.
Menopausal Ex(MEX) had a growth cut out of the top of his head yesterday.
For the second time.
He had bled during the night and asked me to put some antibiotic cream on the wound.
Now I don’t know about you lot but I take a couple of hours to wake up.
My eyes take about an hour to focus properly.
Which makes the drive over the mountain even more exciting.
I have no idea where I put that ointment.
Probably on the dried blood.
I find it strange that the doctor didn’t shave the area.
How the hell he managed to put all thoses stitches in around the hair is a mystery.
OK…Mex does not have a LOT of hair.
What is there is thinning.
At a rapid rate.
Still….I would have thought it would have been more hygenic to have shaved him first.

The wound is BIG.
The doctor then pulled a flap of skin over it to stitch it back.
Tight.
I looked at Mex last night.
The wrinkles are still there.
I would have expected a bit of a face lift.
But that is me.

It is funny how our/my mind works.
Blood doesn’t worry me at all.
I wanted to be a nurse.
For a very brief moment.
I think I would have been ok as a theatre nurse.
However, I think that, in order to become one, you first have to
do the vomit and pooh thing.
THIS would have been a major problem.

OK…coffee calling.
Have a great day.

There was a family gathering, with all generations around the table.

Mischievous teenagers put a Viagra tablet into Grandpa’s drink, and after a while, Grandpa excused himself because he had to go to the toilet.
When he returned, however, his trousers are wet all over.
‘What happened, Grandpa?’ he is asked by his concerned children.
‘Well,’ he answered, ‘I don’t really know.  I had to go to the toilet.
So I took it out and started to pee, but then I saw that it wasn’t mine, so I put it back!’

    • Good Morning Bud…good to see you back from your travels.

  4. Phew, glad to hear I’m not the only one whose eyes take a while to wake up. I was worried.
Good luck with the patient. Men are miserable to have around when wounded or sick.

    • Mex is miserable ALL the time…that is how I know he is happy!!!

  5. I could never have been a nurse I faint at the sight of blood, I was totally useless when my kids hurt themselve! Love the joke.

    • Morning Supa…went onto the site and clicked your pic…hope that is all it took!

  6. They didn’t shave him? That doesn’t seem right, surely hairs will matt into the wound and cause and infection?
Nursing not for me thanks, puppy pooh is almost more than I can handle.

    • Morning cindy…yep…I find it VERY strange.

  7. Are you sure he is a proper doctor? Maybe he needs new glasses to see the hairs? *smacks herself on the head*

    Love the joke, Gran! 😀

    • Actually.Adee. I have my doubts about this guy….he removed a growth in 2004 and even though the lab results said he had not got it all he was adamant he HAD.

  8. There is just no arguing with a man!!

    • Hi Love…I don’t even bother to try…just think evil thoughts!

  9. Very strange that he didn’t shave. When LC had his head bashed in my office the first thing the doctor did was shave his noggin before stitching him up.

    Poor Grandpa, lol!

    • Morning HP…yep…I didn’t understand either….did I answer you last night?

  10. Sweet page, I didnt have the chance to notice granny1947.wordpress.com in the past in my browsing! Continiue the good work!

  11. Morning Granny – with my internet access up to #$%& at the moment, I don’t get to see you enough!!
I’m the same – blood and binnegoed don’t phase me at all, but poop and puke leave me paralysed.

    • Morning Rose….I’m glad I’m not the only one…thought I might have vampire genes!

  12. How the *severely censored* did I manage to get so far behind with your posts? Oh, yes… I read some of them on email and then don’t get round to visiting, is the problem! ‘~’

    • Well I am glad you finally came over!
